Business - Craftwork | Activities - Craft

In 1975, the founder, Kuniko Asano, created Kanazawa Metal Leaf Craftwork in order to establish Kanazawa metal leaf as a local industry, which was largely unknown even within Japan. A cornerstone of artistic craftsmanship that represents Japan was established.

"I wish for customers to naturally feel the beauty of tradition." From this idea was born a variety of types of artistic productions that now exceed over 1,000. A wide range of products are provided, including, not only tableware, but also items for interior use, pictures of art, accessories, and even stationary. Our products are sold throughout Japan at department stores and boutiques and adhere to the Japanese lifestyle.

In order to actualize the making of products such as these, people as well as their technical ability are very important. By merging old and new values in ways like passing on traditional techniques, fostering artisans that possess inherited crafts, and developing new techniques and new products can be realized.

With sincere appreciation, we have been recognized by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry through a number of awards, including top awards in "Crafts" and "Ministry's Commendation for Trade and Industry." Today, we are creating not only gold leaf products, but also lacquer and metallic lacquer goods, Yuzen-dyed products, Japanese paper, and more.
